Video Studio Manager
Position Overview:
The Video Studio Manager will be responsible for the operation and management of our new in-house video/podcast studio, TV/Media remote interview suite, and maintaining basic AV throughout our new offices. This role involves operating cinematic PTZ cameras, a Tricaster video switcher, managing audio equipment, implementing TV-style lighting design, performing video editing, working with streaming providers, file management, and maintaining all studio equipment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for video production and a desire to learn and grow as NCLA’s needs expand.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Switching: Operate the Tricaster video switcher during live broadcasts and recordings, ensuring seamless camera transitions, graphic transitions, and high-quality output.
Video Editing: Edit and produce video content using Adobe Premiere ensuring polished and professional final products for variety of digital platforms: YouTube, website, X, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
Audio Management: Utilize the audio console to manage sound levels, mix audio, and ensure optimal sound quality for all productions.
Lighting Design: Maintain TV-style lighting setups, adjusting as needed to enhance video quality and create the desired atmosphere.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly check, maintain, and troubleshoot all studio equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
Collaboration: Work closely with the communication department team members to understand production needs and deliver high-quality content and manage studio time and project workflow.
Learning and Development: Stay updated on industry trends and technology, seeking opportunities for professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of video production, editing techniques and equipment.
Familiarity with Tricaster or similar video switchers preferred, but training is available.
Understanding of audio mixing and lighting design concepts.
Experience with video and graphic editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator)
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and workflows.
