Make a Planned Gift
There are creative ways to support NCLA in addition to direct donations. These giving techniques are called “planned gifts.” With thoughtful preparation, the impact of a planned gift is as profound as an entire lifetime of giving. There are a few ways to support NCLA through a planned gift:
- Include NCLA in your will
- Including NCLA in your will is the easiest and most popular type of legacy gift. All you need to do is fill in and share the sentence below with your attorney or estate planner.I give, devise, and bequeath to the New Civil Liberties Alliance (Federal Tax ID #81-3474290), located in Arlington, VA, the sum of $______, or _____% of my estate to be used for its general support (or for the support of a specific program.)
- Name NCLA a beneficiary
- You can also name NCLA as a beneficiary of accounts such as life insurance policies or retirement accounts. To do this, simply alert your policy or account custodian of your plans to change or add NCLA. Donors should consult with their tax advisor regarding the tax benefits of such gifts.
To notify us of a planned gift, or if you have any questions on how to arrange a planned gift, please contact Angel Kast, Associate Director of Development, (202) 869-5213, angel.kast@ncla.legal

Donor Advised Fund / IRA
You can initiate a grant recommendation from your donor-advised fund – or DAF – directly to NCLA in three easy ways:
- Make a one-time gift. Contact your Donor Advised Fund administrator and recommend a one-time grant directly to the New Civil Liberties Alliance.
- Create a recurring, monthly or quarterly gift. Initiating an automatic monthly or quarterly gift from your Donor Advised Fund is one of the easiest ways to support NCLA all year long.
- Create your legacy of tackling the Administrative State and protecting civil liberties. You can name NCLA as a beneficiary of all or a portion of the funds remaining in your Donor Advised Fund after your lifetime.
