Aaron Reese
Deputy Director of Communications and Marketing
Aaron brings an extended background in video production, editing, and storytelling to NCLA, along with a lifelong passion for civil liberties.
After graduating from the University of Illinois, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he joined the Institute for Justice’s Communications Team. There, he created videos and social media content highlighting people whose constitutional rights had been violated by the government.
He later joined the Leadership Institute’s television studios, where he produced and edited videos for numerous D.C. organizations—launching several YouTube channels, directing interviews, and creating short documentaries that showcased students’ constitutional rights on college campuses.
Aaron went on to work with the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) in Philadelphia, directing and editing videos about free speech and FIRE’s clients. He also co-directed and edited Mighty Ira: A Civil Liberties Story (2020), a feature documentary about former ACLU Executive Director Ira Glasser.
Over the course of his career, Aaron has led creative teams and collaborated with talent across the country to produce visually compelling stories that inform, inspire, and reach broad audiences. His work has been featured on NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, C-SPAN, and in award-winning documentaries and digital campaigns.
