Aaron Reese

Video Studio Manager

Aaron joins NCLA with a background in video production, editing, and a passion for civil liberties. After graduating from University of Illinois School of Art and Design, he moved to DC and joined the Institute for Justice Communications Team, creating videos and graphics about people whose constitutional rights were violated by the government.

He later worked at Leadership Institute in their television studios, recording and editing videos for social media for multiple DC beltway organizations, starting several YouTube channels, directing television interviews, creating videos for social media, and producing short documentary videos which highlighted students’ rights on college campuses.

After spending nearly a decade in the DC beltway, he joined the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) in Philadelphia, where he directed, produced, and edited videos about FIRE’s clients and free speech principles. As a documentary filmmaker, he was Co-Director and Editor of “Mighty Ira: A Civil Liberties Story” (2020), which told the story of former Executive Director of the ACLU Ira Glasser.

Throughout his career, he’s led and collaborated with creative teams to develop visually compelling content that inform, inspire, and scale audiences. His video work has been featured on NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, CSPAN, and includes award-winning documentaries, television shows for local cable, and digital campaigns.
