What were your duties as an NCLA clerk?
My duties as an NCLA clerk ranged from researching specific topics and assisting attorneys with ongoing cases to investigating cases that NCLA considered getting involved into researching niche areas of administrative law that NCLA is looking to break into in the near future.
What did you most enjoy about your clerkship?
I enjoyed working on cases that matter with amazing attorneys who take pride in their work.
What interesting thing(s) did you learn about Administrative Law?
I learned that Administrative Law is incredibly expansive and touches nearly every subject imaginable. For example, I learned about the breadth of the public rights doctrine and the blatant violations of the Seventh Amendment and Due Process Clause that ensue from the ensuing Article I courts.”
How might you use what you’ve learned later in your professional career?
I will use the writing skills and knowledge of administrative law that I’ve gained here to assist clients moving forward in my career as an attorney.
Any advice for other students who want to clerk at NCLA in the future?
It is the opportunity of a lifetime. The people here are wonderful, the experience gained is invaluable, and the cases that you work on are worthwhile and fulfilling.
