Karen Harned has over 36 years of legal, policy, and public relations experience. She began as Assistant Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Don Nickles before practicing law for seven years, representing businesses before Congress and federal agencies. For over 20 years, she led the NFIB Small Business Legal Center, building it from the ground up and spearheading two landmark Supreme Court cases: NFIB v. Sebelius and NFIB v. DOL. A recognized expert in small business issues, administrative law, labor law, and constitutional law, she has testified before Congress on regulatory policy and its impact on small businesses. Harned frequently writes opinion pieces and appears on major news networks, including Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC. She holds a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma and a J.D. from The George Washington University National Law Center. Harned is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia.
